PNG Bro-down Episode 30 – Better than Beyonce Welcome to a very special PNG Bro-down recorded with the power of the internets. The always changing line up sees a special return appearance on this now venerable podcast. We chat about all things … Continue reading
On last weeks PNG Bro-down, it was made public that my Xbox 360 came down with a nasty E-74 error at a most embarrassing time roughly 2 weeks ago. While some bros and I were taking a break from the night’s festivities for some newly released Battlefield 1943 action, it struck from the darkest pits of the nine circles of hell. We got a few games in before something odd started happening with the graphics. Everything took on a “Matrix like” green hue with lines of characters running down the screen. A quick reset brought about the red rimmed, green eyed monster that you see mocking me in the picture above.
Faithful PnG readers, I want to apologize that I haven’t been on the ball lately and haven’t posted anything in the last two weeks. I feel bad, so this is me coming out in the open and admitting I let you down. Ok, now with that out of the way, how about a Bionic Commando impression, some brand new details on Marvel vs. Capcom 2, and to top it off a Red Steel 2 Trailer, which makes it look…. well I’ll let you decide. Check it all out after the break.
The PNG crew comes back after a long weekend of celebration and oddly enough, there’s some pretty big news for a monday. The gaming press has been lit up with news from a press event held in London by Bethesda. MTV Multiplayer is reporting that Fallout New Vegas will be due out sometime next year and that Bethesda is betting it all on black by letting Obsidian Entertainment develop it. It will not be a sequel to Fallout 3 but it’s very own game.
We’re still giving away a copy of Fallout 3 for PC here. All you have to do is guess the secret word with various hints we’ve thrown down all over the site and in last Thursday’s podcast to proclaim ownership of our free copy.
If you’ve been waiting for some crazy deal to finally sway you towards owning an Xbox 360, your time will have come next month. Kotaku is reporting that Microsoft will be dropping a Games of the Year Elite Bundle in May. In addition to all of the normal bells and whistles you get with a regular Elite, you get Halo 3 and Fable 2 all for the regular price of $399. Word is they’re limited though so take advantage of it while you can!

I decided that since we are a different type of “gaming” related website that personal reviews might not be for all of us. I did however, want to make sure I didn’t fail on my intentions to provide a pseudo review of F.E.A.R. 2. Here goes…
F.E.A.R. 2 would be much easier if broken into bullets for your quick reading pleasure…
Last week we got a double dose of Diesel on Xbox Live and man were we pumped here at PNG. Jeff definitely piqued my interest during our last Audiophile when he compared it to Burnout with a story. As I fell deeply in love with Burnout Paradise, I couldn’t see anything wrong with giving the demo a shot. After all, it is free.
After playing the 3 missions they give you in the demo, I can say three words enthusiastically. Play this now.
Earlier today, or yesterday depending on your timezone, the demo Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena debuted on Xbox Live. I took the opportunity to give it a once through and take a few notes about my impressions of the very short demo. I won’t bother putting a spoiler warning, because it’s a ten minute demo. Nevermind that I think I just did with that remark.
