PNG Daily 5/20/2009: If You Play These Games, You Win

And then Predator was all like "Oh no you didn't Alien"... then he stabbed him.

For those of you whose only unfortunate run in with the Aliens VS Predator franchise has been the two sub par movies that have been released, you will soon have your chance to wash that filthy taste out of your mouth.  Sega released some screen shots, details, and a teaser trailer for the next installment of the Aliens VS Predator games.  Hopefully you can play through the entire process of becoming an adult Alien complete with a chest bursting sequence ala Aliens VS Predator 2!

If you were planning on picking up a copy of Terminator Salvation for PC, don’t.  If you’ve already picked one up and have found that it just won’t install, please take a good hard look at your purchasing decisions and then return it as publisher Evolved Games has issued a recall of Terminator Salvation for PC only.  The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions are not affected by the defect that occurred during replication.

Not a whole lot of news today so you get a short and sweet Daily.  We would like to apologize for those that were looking forward to our special “Year of the Schafer” podcast for Monkey Island, but we had to cancel it for now.  Expect it to be done with Monkey Island II’s podcast to be dubbed our official Pirate Cast.

Year of the Schafer: Counting Down to Gaming Bliss

If I were to tell you that your face will be melted off (officially) on Rocktober October 13th how would you spend your remaining months?  By playing Tim Schafer’s entire back catalogue of gaming classics of course!  Not hip to “The Year of the Schafer?”  Hop on over to Logan’s post so you too can be a cool kid.

The man himself is pumped that his newest gift to the world finally has a release date, eagerly exclaiming “Wooo! Having an official release date is awesome!  And how cool is it that EA threw down the dough to have the name of an entire month changed to Rocktober?”

Cool?  I guess.  But apparently King Schafer has not heard that we media titans Pixels and Grids have dedicated the entire year to his greatness.  So start playing Secret of Monkey Island now or risk having your face only partially melted off.  That would just look silly.

Year of the Schafer: April – The Secret of Monkey Island

mi

Yarr!  We be kickin’ off our Year of the Schafer celebration with more swash for your buckle.  Along with budding flowers and sunny days, April brings with it a light hearted tale of love, spiritual growth, and murderous piracy on the open sea (more specifically, islands on the open sea… Monkey Island, for example).  So find a copy and play along with us as we (re)experience The Schafer’s first point-and-click, picarrooning adventure.

Stay tuned for a special podcast at the end of the month where we’ll share our thoughts, favorite moments, and whatever else about this game.
